Halle York

On behalf of the RJSHS, a huge thank you to staff members, Mrs. Vicky Mathis and Mr. Andrew Mclean, and to the numerous parents and community members who worked diligently to ensure that the Jr. Beta students had a memorable trip to the Louisville for
this convention.

ACT Updates

Next Tuesday is the state-wide administration of the ACT
exam for all juniors. All students have been preparing and using a program all year, TCA, that has been individualized for their needs based on practice exams they have been given throughout the year. We have some intense, specific
review activities planned for juniors this week as well as other activities to
help them be as prepared as they possibly can be. We will also be giving the sophomore students a practice ACT to start this journey of making them college and/or career ready
by the time they graduate from our school.
Parents, please encourage your students to take these prep sessions seriously and to use them to their advantage.  Remember, successfully reaching those state and national benchmarks help to ensure that students do not need to take remedial college courses which
could extend their time and financial resources while trying to obtain their
degrees. All 10th and 11th grade students can access the TCA program from home at any time.

Academic Recovery

We are continually striving to create programs and initiatives
that could can provide our students with the needed support to be academically
successful. In an attempt to address students need more or extended time with the school environment to complete credits and maintain a timely path to graduation, we have developed afterschool sessions on Tuesday and Thursday until 4:15 for students to use to make-up missing assignments, retake exams, or any other task that the students need to
complete to stay in good academic standing for a class. You will receive a letter, if your child is being asked to participate in this program, that details more specific information.
