The Russellville Marching Band was proud to host its 40th Annual
Show of Bands at Rhea Stadium which garnered approximately 600 band
students. If you weren’t there on Saturday, you missed
out on a day to remember! Competing bands brought out a huge crowd and
didn’t disappoint in paying homage to their respective schools. The bands performed in the following
order: Dawson Springs, Warren Central, Logan County, South Warren, Apollo
High, Grayson County and Meade County. As the Host, the RHS Panther
Band didn’t participate in the competition but performed in their new
uniforms and celebrated the 40th year tradition. After
the competition, the band students were treated with a
surprise by the Murray State University Racer Band. They performed four songs, and it was
a sight to see, watching the students envision themselves in the future shoes
of their college bandmates. Before the
show began, the Russellville Band recognized its Senior members for their
dedication and growth. Those Senior students
were: Zach Baker, Sharaya Booze, Maleah
Buckner, Aracely Gomez, Katie Ray Holloman, Carson Kash, Ethan Paul, and Kyran
Williams. Much appreciation is expressed to the businesses,
organizations, parents, and people that supported this event and helped to make
it possible! If you didn’t know, now you know, so mark
your calendars for next year’s Show of the Bands!
