Spring Semester CharacterWorks Recognition

Spring Semester CharacterWorks Recognition

On Saturday, May 30, 2015, the second semester “CharacterWorks” Celebration was held at the New Vision Community Church in Russellville. Each student present had been selected by their teacher and were recognized, honored, and awarded a medal and bumper sticker for their participation. They also were treated to an ice-cream sundae bar after the program. CharacterWorks Director, Mrs. Lisa White, addressed the 120+ crowd and shared the details, insights, and goals of this project. CharacterWorks is a County-wide campaign focusing on character development of our youth and families. CharacterWorks will provide support and recognize our youth that exhibit strong character such as self-control, initiative, patience and respect. Each month, Logan County highlights a specific character trait. Watch for signs throughout Logan County that display the character word for the month. Throughout each month, businesses, organizations, the newspaper, radio, internet, churches, and schools will focus on that particular character trait. The citizens of Logan County will see the character word on signs, emails, and newsletters. Our entire county is behind CharacterWorks.  Each month Mrs. Lisa White sends out a CharacterWorks newsletter about the program. If you would like to be added to the email list, you can request it by emailing her at [email protected]. If you would like to volunteer or serve as a Board Member, please contact her at this same email address. CharacterWorks’ purpose is to provide a unified focus on supporting and recognizing our young leaders of tomorrow. Through a strong mission, our youth will continue to benefit because they will realize that having strong character is very important to one’s success.
