SES K-Kids prepare Valentines for Creekwood Residents and announce future plans

Meeting before school at 7:00 on three different mornings is what it took to complete this project, but the SES K-Kids were successful for their third consecutive year in making Valentine's Day cards for all of the residents at Creekwood Nursing and Rehab Center.  Each month, the K-Kids meet to conduct a regular business meeting and then again to complete a service project. Often it takes more than one meeting to finish their projects.  In January, the K-Kids sponsored the Pennies for Patients campaign to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, helping raise $1,877.67 for the campaign. The March project will be a Teddy Bear Roundup.  The K-Kids will encourage all students to bring in new Teddy Bears and small throws to be donated to the Child Permanency and Protection Agency. These Teddy Bears and throws are given to small children when they are removed from their homes. On behalf of all SES students and staff, the K-Kids will present the collected items to Missy Perry with the Department of Community Based Services at Town Meeting the first week in April.
