The RHS

during this time, as well. Below is more information from our athletic
director, Calvin Head:

Greetings from the
RHS Athletic Department:

Next week we have
several activities and events taking place at our two G/B doubleheader home
basketball games. We also have several fun activities going on throughout the
school week in preparation for our Homecoming games and events on Friday night.

Tuesday, Jan. 27th
will be our “Pink Out” game as we host Springfield HS. All Panther Fans are
asked to wear Pink to the game that night in support of Breast Cancer
Awareness. During... half-time of each game the RHS cheerleaders will be
passing buckets through the stands for financial contributions that will be
going to the American Cancer Society. We will also be having a special
performance in between the two games by the Cheer Katz from Logan County
Gymnastics.

On Friday Jan. 30th
the RHS Panthers and Lady Panthers will host South Warren for a G/B
doubleheader matchup starting at 6:00 p.m. This game will be our homecoming
game. The homecoming festivities will take place in between the girls and boys
games. In addition to the homecoming activities, this game will also be used as
our Lymphoma Awareness game in support of Dillon Porter, a current RHS student,
who was diagnosed with Lymphoma this past fall and is currently taking
treatments. In support of Dillon and his family and, to increase Lymphoma
Awareness, the RHS athletic department is planning a "Green Out" for
this game. All Panther fans are asked to wear Lime Green to the game that
night. Green “glow in the dark” necklaces will be handed out to Panther fans
upon their arrival!!!

This is going to be
a very special week for RHS basketball as we play in support and awareness of
cancer and the many lives that it has affected in our schools and community. We
are also excited to celebrate our homecoming activities and events throughout
the week and the recognition of our students on Friday night.

We are looking
forward to seeing everyone at the games next week!!!!

Go Panthers!!!!!

RHS Swim Team

The RHS
Swimming Panthers had a strong showing at Hopkinsville High School Thursday
night. Kate Bouldin had two best personal times for the season in the 200 free
and the 100 fly. Cole Celsor had an all time personal best in the 100 free.
Benjamin Slack placed first in the 200 free and 2nd in the 100 fly. Both
Rodriguez swimmers, Ed and Fernanda, had good solid swims.

On Friday
three of our swimmers participated in a team fundraiser. Swimmers
collected donations in exchange for swimming at least a mile - that's 33 laps.
Celsor swam two miles and both Ed Rodriguez and Kate Bouldin swam three miles.
All swimming had to be completed within a two hour time limit.

Upcoming
events for the swim team include hosting the concession stand at Tuesday
night's basketball game and their last home swim meet Thursday night at the
Carpenter Center. Senior Ed Rodriguez will be recognized.
