The Russellville High School Alumni, the "R" Club, held the 1st Annual "Buddy" Linton - Howard Wren Kickoff Classic at Rhea Stadium on Ken Barrett Field on Friday, August 19, 2016. This was the beginning of what will be an annual event where all Panthers will honor two of the finest gentleman to ever wear the "Black and Gold". Both Coach Linton and Coach Wren spent most of their lives influencing the youth of our community in a positive way and continued their great work well past their coaching days. A ceremonial time was held pre-game before a great crowd as honor was shown to the families of these two favorite PANTHERS. Also, at half-time, our 1966 State Finalist team was recognized. Much effort was made to notify all the team members, staff, and cheerleaders. Then, to top the night off, Coach Myers, experienced his 100th Win as the Panthers beat the Trigg Co. Wildcats 41-0!! We are Panther Proud!!
