Dear Parents/Guardians:
I am very excited about my appointment as Interim Principal of R.E. Stevenson Elementary School. I am not a stranger to the Russellville school district, serving as both assistant principal and instructional coach over the past four years. Before coming to Russellville, I was a 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classroom teacher for 9 years.
Stevenson’s core values reflect my own beliefs in schools. Ultimately, I believe it is my job to make sure each child can achieve at his/her highest level. I also believe it is important to provide a learning environment that helps each child be successful, including providing them a safe place where they can take academic risks and develop socially and emotionally.
One of the most important aspects of my work at Stevenson will be to make sure your child receives the best instruction possible. I will build strong relationships with students, teachers, and with you, our families. You’ll find me in the hallways, classrooms, and cafeteria getting to know your child(ren). My passion has always been centered on ”kids first”, and with that in mind, you can expect that I will work diligently with all of our teachers to make sure our students have every opportunity possible to learn and grow academically.
Another important part of my work will be to find ways that our faculty and staff can collaborate with you (and our greater community) to make sure our students know that “We are in this together!” It is extremely important that we unite around a strong, shared commitment for maintaining academic excellence at Stevenson.
I believe in our district motto---Every child, Every day!, and, I have high expectations for myself. I promise to model behaviors that I would expect to see in others every day and in every situation. It is my unwavering belief that high expectations lead to success---for me, for you, and for our Kids!
