Good Sunday afternoon to all! I hope this finds everyone rested and ready to get back to school tomorrow! I know that we had several families and employees traveling this past week. My hope is that everyone has returned home safely and was able to enjoy some of your time away from the RVK! We are grateful that all of our folks have been able to return home safely. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been so greatly impacted by Hurricane Matthew.
This is the RHS Football Homecoming week at school! There will specific dress-up days (see below), the crowning of our homecoming King/Queen and Prince/Princess, our scheduled game on Friday and the homecoming dance scheduled for 10:00-1:00 immediately following the game with Fulton. Tickets for the dance are $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Students may bring guests who are enrolled in other schools only. If you plan on bringing a guest, please submit his/her name to the front office by Tuesday for approval.
Homecoming Week Activities:
Monday—Monsters University—Wear your favorite team jersey.
Tuesday---Disney Duo—Dress as your favorite Disney pair.
Wednesday—Tacky Park Tourist Day---Dress as a Disney visitor.
Thursday—Throwback Thursday—Dress as your favorite Disney character.
Friday—Black and Gold Day—Wear your Disney ears, as well!
We have also invested in a new ACT software program that is designed to not only help students prepare for this important assessment but it also provided individualized plans and activities for students based on their specific needs. We will offer this to 10th and 11th graders for the remainder of this school year. We will administer the initial ACT-like exams to both 10th and 11th graders this week to help them prepare for this program.
Congratulations to our middle school football team, under the direction of Pete Ries, on winning the first round match of the state play-offs. The Panthers beat Webster Co to advance to the next game with Edmonson Co. We wish our team the best of luck as they continue this journey!
