A Spring Concert

On Tuesday, May 26, 2015, in the deGraffenried Auditorium RIS students displayed their many talents as they presented, "A Spring Concert".  The SES Beginning 5th Grade Band, under the direction of Mrs. Susan Allpress, shared 3 selections:  "Ode to Joy", "Power Rock", and "Let it Go".  The Russellville Percussion Ensembles, under the direction of Philip Crawford and Eli Higginbotham, entertained with "Drum Circle" and "Super-Disclosure".  The 6th Grade Band, 7th and 8th Grade Band, RHS Jazz Ensemble (with featured soloists:  Mandy Beasley - Trumpet and Rob Beasley - Saxophone), and RHS Concert Band, all under the direction of Brian E. Brown, "wowed" the crowd with selections such as "Little Einsteins" (with Hannah Miller's arranging and conducting), "March of the Patriots", "In the Mood", and "Circus Days", just to mention a few.  These students are tremendously talented and fortunate to be in Russellville Independent Schools under great Directors that challenge them to excellence.  Thank you to the parents, band boosters, RIS faculty and staff, Board Members, Administration, and this community for all their support.
