Stevenson 5th Grade Promotion, 5/19/17
Stevenson Elementary School held its 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony on Wednesday, May 19, 2017. Principal, Mrs. Robin Cornelius, welcomed the families and friends of those being recognized. JunVontre Dillard gave the invocation, and special music was performed by the 5th Grade Band as they played “Power Rock”, the final selection directed by retiring Mrs. Susan Allpress. The 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade Chorus members sang, “Look Beyond Tomorrow”, under the direction of Mrs. Elaine Blythe. Guest speaker, Senator Whitney Westerfield, centered in on #2 of the Seven Habits: “Begin with the end in mind” as he challenged each student to be their best and set high goals but to enjoy this time of their lives. He encouraged them to be thankful and express their thanks. Awards and recognitions were presented by each 5th grade teacher. Ms. Rachel Durbin’s Homeroom – Mandee Appling, Akiah Bell, Cheyenne Black, Hannah Cheaney, Mary Cheaney, Destiny Christie, Rayjzon Clayton, Marquece Evans, Ariel Hardimon, Crissy Higgins, Daisie Holder, Ashton Jenkins, Rubi Lopez, Dakota Mayhew, Oger Pedraza, Madison Penrod, Kevin Raines, Peyton Roberson, Kelzea Rose, Jadyn Snorton, Zachary Stafford, Treyvonn Stevenson, Liahnise Watson, Timothy Webster, and Luis Zurita. Closing Remarks were issued by Mrs. Robin Cornelius and refreshments were served.
