From Superintendent Bart Flener, 3/12/20
From Superintendent, Bart Flener:
As of now, Russellville Independent & Logan County Schools do NOT have plans to close school in response to COVID-19, aka the Coronavirus. However, based on advice from the Governor’s office, public school district leaders have been advised to be prepared to close with 72 hours notice. We are monitoring the situation very closely, and if we are advised to close by health officials or the governor’s office, we will do so. We are preparing options for supplemental learning and meal services if it becomes necessary to close in the coming days. We, along with our local community leaders, recognize the impact a school closure will have on our community, including the effect of limited access to childcare, children’s meals, and support services. We will notify everyone as soon as we have further information, and we ask that you check our website periodically for updates.
