The Russellville-Logan County Optimist Club is sponsoring the 2018-19 Optimist International Oratorical Contest. The contest begins at the club level, then proceeds to the Zone and district level before concluding at the World Championship Level. This contest is open to all contestants under the age of 19 as of October 1st and is not enrolled as a degree seeking student of a post-secondary institution. Each contestant must prepare his/her own speech and may make minor changes or improvements to the speech at any time.
All contestants must speak on the official topic and the speech must be delivered in English or French. This years topic is Is there a Fine Line Between Optimism and Reality? For more rules or information, please select the attached PDF.

Club Level Winner - Medallion
Zone Level Winner - Plaque
District Regional Level Winner - Plaque
District Level Winner - Scholarship ($2500, $1500, and $1000 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places respectively)
