RISD Central Office Board Room Upgrade, 11/19/19

Just a little over a month ago, visions, ideas, and dreams were passed around between Russellville Independent School District’s Superintendent, Bart Flener, Buildings and Maintenance Director, Danny Perry, and assistant, Kelley Paul, to design and create an upgrade to the current Board Room at the RISD Central Office. These ideas were put in motion, and the excitement and work began. Thanks to “many hands”, almost a complete overhaul was begun with ceilings being lowered, new lighting installed, new window treatments, drywall replaced, fresh coats of paint, new flooring; additional functional furniture, new décor on the walls, and the list goes on. The official unveiling was held on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the regularly scheduled monthly Board meeting, and much surprise was expressed as Board members, students, staff, and community members entered this newly renovated creation. Statements were heard, “I can’t believe it’s the same room”, “where are we”, and “this looks so good”. RISD Board member, Davonna Page, said, "The new updated board room is outstanding. What a great marriage of our Russellville Independent Schools’ history and the future!"
