New Shoes Distribution!

On Thursday, March 5, Stevenson Elementary Principal, Mrs. Robin Cornelius, witnessed a “dream come true” for the Stevenson students as they received the rewards from the gift that SES had previously received on Dec. 17, when folks from The Point Church visited the school and presented her with their “Legacy Offering Check”. As was shared back in the summer before school started someone from The Point questioned Mrs. Cornelius if she had unlimited funds for SES, what would she do? The members stated her answers were all about what was best for the students. That is how they made the decision to present her the offering. Mrs. Cornelius knew almost immediately what she wanted for the students. So, this week each student from SES received their own new pair of shoes! To say Mrs. Cornelius and these students were pleased is an understatement. Once again she expressed how she was definitely blessed and has been so touched by all that The Point does for Stevenson students. Additionally, on Friday, March 6, at Russellville Middle School, the 6th through 8th graders received their new shoes! RMS Principal, Mr. Cameron Jackson, said, “A big thank you to The Point Church for providing every student at RMS new shoes. Such an awesome act of kindness for our kids.” Superintendent, Mr. Bart Flener, said, “Thanks so much to our community partners at The Point Church here in Russellville for providing grades Pre-K through 8th grade students with 821 new pairs of shoes! The Point Church volunteers have sized, ordered, delivered, & fitted our kiddos in the past month!” The Point Church is located at 1710 Nashville Street in Russellville, and their desire is to be a church that impacts their community in a very tangible way. As they presented this generous donation to Stevenson Elementary, they shared this is their way of investing in the lives of students and their families not just for today, but for eternity. Their Legacy Offering theme is “Love has to do something. Love has to be lived out.” That theme was also extended to Russellville Middle School Students so both schools have experienced that love in this very special display of placing new shoes on each student’s feet.  We R Grateful!
