District Champs and a 3rd place finish in the Middle School Softball State Tournament.
RMS softballOver the weekend of Sept. 28-29, Russellville Middle School Girls Softball finished 3rd in the State Tournament out of 16 teams!   The final record was 22-6.  They defeated Christian County, Greenwood, and Owensboro Catholic to advance to the final 4.  They lost 5-4 in the winners’ bracket to advance to the championship game to McCracken County.  They lost 9-4 to Henderson County in the loser bracket to advance to the championship.  Both of these schools have an enrollment of over 2000 students compared to our 300.  McCracken County defeated Henderson 15-1 in the championship game.  Coach, Ryan Davenport said, “I'm so proud of these girls! We have come from the very bottom of the state to the top in 5 years.  Thank you, 8th graders, for all your hard work and dedication to our team!  Thank you, coaches, for all your hard work!  We’ve had 60 wins over the past 3 years, 2 state quarterfinals, and a 3rd place finish in the state tournament.  The future is bright for Russellville softball!”  Congratulations, Lady Panthers!  We R Proud!
