Vision/Mission Statement Committee Members met again, 4/9/19
Vision/Statement
On Tuesday, April 9, the Vision/Mission Statement Committee Members made a final decision on the statement that will represent Russellville Independent Schools.  Next Generation Leader Representative, Lu Young, returned as the keynote speaker for the evening.  She presented two mission statements and asked committee members to choose the vital one.  After the groups thoroughly discussed their perspectives, they came together and talked through their decisions. Their divide came to a consensus when Dr. Steven Moats expressed the importance of a statement being personable to students.  Without further discussion, committee members agreed, and the final mission statement was chosen.  They’re now in the process of determining the best procedure regarding how to introduce the statement to the public and the board members.  They have devised a poster that will represent the profile of a Russellville graduate.  Those attending were: Marie Gamble, Community Member; Jean Reynolds, Community Member; Jeremy Bivins, Teacher at Russellville Junior Senior High School; Becky Faenza, Classified Representative at Russellville Junior Senior High School; Miranda Devore, Teacher at Stevenson Elementary School; Ben Bruni, Principal of Russellville Junior Senior High School; Robin Cornelius, Principal of Stevenson Elementary School; Davonna Page, Member, Russellville Board of Education; Lu Young, Facilitator, UK Next Gen; Dr. Steven Moats, Assistant Superintendent; Bart Flener, Superintendent; and Matthew Williams, RHS Public Relations Student Intern.
