"Teddy Bear Round Up" Presentation!

Protection and Permanency Director, Missy Perry, came to Stevenson Elementary School Friday, 04/03/15, for a very special presentation planned to assist her with the program she serves. The SES K-Kids presented Mrs. Perry with a collection of 116 stuffed animals and 40 plush throws that the students and staff collected through the “Teddy Bear Round-Up” emphasis held during the month of March. These donated items will be used by the Department of Protection and Permanency when removing small children from their homes.  Family Resource Center Coordinator and K-Kids Sponsor, Carol Kees, noted that these items didn’t come just from SES students and staff, but also community members who learned of the project also donated. April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. Since more reports of suspected child abuse/neglect are made during the month of April than any other month, March seemed like the perfect time for the K-Kids to sponsor this very worthwhile project. Thank you to leaders and students for your thoughtfulness as you will impact little lives.
