Good Sunday afternoon to all!

The 1st Annual Panther Choice Awards will be held tomorrow at 6:00 in the high school gym.  There will be a photographer available to capture this red-carpet event for you and your student. If your child has been selected for this honor, please make every attempt to be there as the nominating staff member will be sharing a special recognition for each recipient.

AP and End of Course testing will begin this week.  The schedule for this week is as follows:

Monday—AP Chemistry

Wednesday—AP English Literature

Thursday---Algebra II EOC

Friday—AP US History

*All AP testing will occur at the tech center on 7th street (in front of stadium).  Students will need to report to the tech center by 8:00.  Students will finish at approximately 12:00 at which time lunch will be on their own before they return to school.

*The Algebra II EOC will be administered at school.

Congratulations to our 2016 Prom King and Queen—Mr. Colby Nichols  and Ms. Kate Bouldin.  Our “Hollywood” themed gala was a huge success due to all of the work put in by our students and staff.  A special thanks to Ms. Johnea Pendleton, chosen as Outstanding Prom Student due to her extra work and effort put into this event and to Mrs. Ashley McGinnis, who was chosen as the Outstanding Teacher for her extraordinary efforts in organizing and planning our prom.  I also want to recognize Mrs. Lauren Fynboe for her tireless work as Senior Sponsor and Coordinator.  Thanks to our parents and staff members, aka the “Paparazzi” for providing a nice extra touch to the event.  Other students recognized last night were:

Tara Gilbert and Tyler Johnson—Cutest Couple

TK Hampton and Victoria Bilyeu—Best Dressed

Maleigha Stovall and Mark Wynn—Best Dancers

Thanks to Jimmy Davenport and his wife Shirley for providing some great tunes and Mrs. Jessica Lowery for the delicious cakes!! Ryan Fynboe, Brendan McGinnis and Travis McDaniel did a great job chauffeuring our guests on the golf carts!  We were truly appreciative of the golf cart from Jamie, Jon Ray, and Jack Smith, as well as for the one we were able to use from Ryan Davenport!! As you can see, this was truly a community effort.  Thanks to all for helping create a wonderful evening for our students.

Please remember that the RHS Drama production of the “The Little Mermaid” begins this Saturday, May 7th at 7:00PM in the RHS Auditorium.  Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children.  We are very excited about this production and can’t wait to our students and staff perform!! Other showings will be held on May 13th and 14th—just in case you want to see it multiple times!!!
