Russellville Independent Schools has had a great beginning to a new school year even before our students arrive on Tuesday, Aug. 8! Two days of Literacy Training were held at Crosslands Church, and two days of Professional Development were held at the perspective schools. Monday, Aug. 7, will be Opening Day beginning at 8am at Crosslands Church. This year’s guest speaker will be Mr. Bart Flener, new Superintendent. This year RIS will provide our POWER words. “We will display PERSISTENCE as a desirable characteristic for our students by providing meaningful OPPORTUNITIES for them to learn, show, and do because they’re WORTH our best efforts. EXCELLENCE will be the standard for all team members and as a result, RESILIENCE will become commonplace.”
