SES 5th Grade Transition, 4/27/17
5th Grade TransitionOn Wednesday, April 26, 2017, the Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky, Mrs. Jenean Hampton, visited Russellville Junior/Senior High School from 9:00-12:00. Following her address, the Ambassadors provided a glimpse at what life is like as a student at Russellville Junior/Senior High School. The Stevenson Elementary 5th grade students remained on campus and transitioned right into the 5th Grade Transition Program. An invitation letter was presented to the students prior to the event. It stated: To the Russellville High School Class of 2024: Greetings from the Russellville Student Ambassadors! As a result of your accomplishments and continued commitment to academic achievement, you are invited to extend your visit next Wednesday, April 26, for an official welcome to Panther Nation. Each year the 5th graders are invited to the campus for a transition day designed and conducted by the Russellville Student Ambassadors. Sincerely, The Russellville Student Ambassadors. The following groups of the RJSHS Ambassadors assisted with the Transition: 6th Grade Ambassadors-Tour Guides: Aisha Dowlen, Shawn Steele, Carleigh Phillips, Mateah Black, and Luci Suiter; Athletics: Jaylyn McMurray, Loreal Chaney, Hunter Armistead, Gram Humphries, and Brooklyn Ray. The students received colored folders correlating to their assigned groups. This program is created and led by actual students and includes the following sessions: Sixth Grade 101; Panther Guidelines for Success; Successful Student Strategies; The Athletic Experience; and Excellence in the Fine Arts. The visit concluded with a question and answer session also led by students. Congratulations to our rising 6th graders on all your accomplishments.
