Pete the Cat greets studentsOn Saturday, 4/29/17, the Russellville READs! Team hosted two Literacy Events in the community for Russellville students.  Many students and their families came out and participated in the singing, story-telling, and fun-filled literacy activities.  They even met “live-and in-person” Pete the Cat, and were able to get their picture taken with him!  Each student receive a FREE book!  Superintendent, Mr. Leon Smith, expressed his thanks for the literacy team as well as those who came out to support the first big literacy outreach to our community!  It took a team effort to make this a great event!  The turnout at Hampton Park from 10:00-11:30am and Russellville City Park from 1:00-2:30pm was a great launch for other programs to follow throughout the summer!
