Russellville Middle School Principal Announced, 5/20/19

On Monday, May 20, Russellville Independent Schools announced next year’s Russellville Middle School Principal.  This decision comes after a committee vigorously interviewed a list of candidates until the perfect choice was clear to all deciders.  The new principal is someone whose area of expertise doesn’t just excel with the students, but with teachers, staff, and parents. He is someone that has the ability to bring out the potential in young people.  Some have seen him Coach and lead the Lady Panthers to many victories during this school year. All of these quality traits are what makes RMS proud to announce that Cameron Jackson has accepted the position of Principal at Russellville Middle School.  He joins “Russellville Middle School” with over a decade in public education in Kentucky. He has worked in a variety of educational settings, serving as a special education teacher for 10 years, and the past two years as Assistant Principal at Russellville Jr./Sr. High School.  In addition to his teaching and administrative duties, Jackson has served on a school SBDM Council, volunteered his time as a counselor with the local YMCA, served as an assistant athletic director, and been an active participant in Title IX reform. Beyond the classroom, Jackson has worked as a graduate assistant basketball coach with the Kentucky State Men's Basketball Program and served as head girls basketball coach at Campbellsville High School (2008-12).  He most recently was the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Berea High School (2012-17) and is currently Head Girls Basketball for Russellville High School. In addition to this impressive resume, Jackson has a Masters in Education Leadership and Special Education from Union College. Lastly, he has a Bachelors in Sociology from Kentucky State University. Mr. Jackson recently became a first-time father and shares Emmanuel, a 6-month-old boy, with his wife, April. The 2019-2020 school year hasn’t even arrived, but we are so excited for all the things Mr. Jackson is going to bring to Russellville Middle School.  Join us in congratulating Mr. Jackson, and we look forward to the stupendous growth of RMS!
