Weekly Update, March 30th, 2015

Good Sunday afternoon to all!

This week, we will host our annual Operation Preparation event for our 8^th and 10^th grade students.  The goal of Operation Preparation is to expose our students to as many different possible careers as we can so that they can make better informed decisions regarding their potential career pathways.  This year’s event involves nearly 50 different individuals from our community who will speak to students in small group settings regarding their chosen careers and the career planning that was involved in obtaining their goals.  Our event is scheduled for April 1^st from 8:30-11:30 at Russellville Jr/Sr High School and we are looking forward to this important  event that will specifically showcase the many career paths  available to our students in this area.

The RHS Track team began this year’s season yesterday at the Great Gator Classic at Greenwood High School in Bowling Green.  Senior Tacorian Darden placed 2^nd in the 100, with teammate Johnny Drumgole also taking 2^nd place in the 200.  The 200 relay team came in 7^th place and the 100 relay team came in 5^th place.  Congratulations to coaches—Dennis Sydnor, Paulette Smith, Stacy Morris and Matt Tipton, and track students on these results.  We look forward to more good reports and results from our track program as they get their season underway. 

We will be in school on April 3^rd as a make-up day for our snow events this winter.  Spring break is next week with students returning to school on April 13^th.
