National Family day, a day to eat dinner with the family!

What a great family night at Stevenson Elementary! On Monday, September 28, SES teachers, staff, cafeteria Staff, Ashley McGinnis and her many students, Cassie Reding and the RHS Lady Panther Basketball team, the RJSHS Ambassadors, and members of the Logan County Faith and Family Coalition joined Family Resource Coordinator, Carol Kees, as they celebrated National Family day, a day to eat dinner with the family! Our families enjoyed a dinner of ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, fruit salad, a roll, and cake for dessert. There were nothing but compliments from the families on the food they enjoyed and the service they received. Linda Shelton said, “Thanks to all that helped make tonight a success!” Lisa White said, “It was a HUGE success, thank you to everyone for assisting with this event!” Superintendent, Leon Smith, had this to say: “Mary Ann Morris and her team did an awesome job in meal preparation. I heard many compliments from students and parents about the great meal. Mrs. Ashley McGinnis and her Family and Consumer Ed students looked professional and worked tirelessly serving the families. The Ambassadors and Lady Panthers were also on top of their game. One adult made the comment that we hear so many negative things about our young people, but watching our students, restores their faith in our future! Thanks to all staff who put in a long day to make this a special evening for parents and students to eat together. Thanks again for ALL who participated. It was truly a Great Event!” Carol Kees expressed her thanks by saying, “thank you, too, to all (I am afraid to name names for fear of leaving someone out) who stayed late and helped tonight, from prep to finale - Thank You.” Russellville Independent Schools have much for which to be proud.
