Stevenson Elementary just wrapped up its first season of BornLearning Academies, a series of six free workshops that provided families with tools and resources to turn everyday activities into early learning moments. The workshops were held at SES one evening per month offering food and childcare. Each of the six sessions provided a family dinner, breakout sessions for the parents, and arts/crafts and playtime for the children. Every child in attendance received a free book each month, as well as many other items, and each session provided door prizes. The final session rewarded grand prizes and a graduation celebration. Twelve families who had attended four or more sessions and were present for the final session were recognized that evening by RIS Superintendent, Leon Smith.
