Good Sunday afternoon to all! It has been awhile since our last update and I am excited to get a new underway this evening!
We have had two great days of school, so far! On Thursday, we had a huge back to school celebration with many students being recognized and honored for significant accomplishments from our past school year. There were also several teachers who participated in a lip sync battle with many great performances! Thanks to the following teachers for participating in some capacity in our celebration:

On Thursday evening, we held the Meet the Panthers rally to introduce our fall sport teams and their student members. We were very happy with the turnout for our first event and look forward to that rally being bigger and better for our winter and spring teams, as well. Thanks to athletic director Calvin Head for organizing this rally.
This week, all of our students will be participating in academic advising during the advisory period before lunch. Topics will include goal setting, graduation requirements/tracking, study skills assessments and character education. We plan to incorporate more academic advisory sessions into our AA/RTI block this year with Wednesday identified as our advising day. Our vision is for all of our students to have an advocate who can guide and advise in order to help students become college or career ready before graduating. There will be events held during the evening so that you can come and participate in advising sessions with your student, as well. More information to come!
