Real Science Programs for 4th Graders at SES

The 4th grade students at Stevenson Elementary participated in an exciting and entertaining learning experience - "Cold Blooded Killers and Scaly Survivors" - a Real Science Program with Brad Reynolds, sponsored by the SES Family Resource Center. The SES FRC has provided this program for the 4th grade students at SES for several years. This program focused on the amazing adaptations that enables predators to capture prey and also on those that protect prey from predators. As the students experienced Mr. Reynold's live animals, video technology, and well preserved specimens, they better understood predator and prey adaptations, natural selection, reproduction and heredity, biological change, food chains, interdependence, and mimicry. Real Science Programs is the work of Brad Reynolds who has a M.S.Degree in Biology, 10 years of experience as a science teacher, and 10 years with Real Science. The programs are an economical, convenient, and effective way to bring important science concepts to life for the students.  Once again we say, "Thank you, Carol Kees!", for providing vital learning experiences for our students!
