RHS Academic Team  District Governor's Cup Champions

On January 24, the RHS Academic Team, under the direction of Coach Jennifer Rogers, won the District Governor’s Cup Academic Team Meet at Franklin Simpson HS. The Team Placed 1st overall. Members pictured back row (L to R); Kaylee Silvey, Wesley Stratton, Brandon Johns, Brennan Hughes, Will Mullen, Phillip Wilkerson Adam Williams, & Austin Coursey; front row: Madison Rose, Kendra Farlee, Danielle White, Sarah Williams, Shayla Overhausen, & Ashlee Gilbert. The following students: Sarah Williams, Danielle White, Phillip Wilkerson, & Lucas Borden Placed 1st in Future Problem Solving, coached by Donna Wilkerson. The following students: Sarah Williams, Wesley Stratton, Phillip Wilkerson, John Essex, Brennan Hughes, & Will Mullen Placed 1st in Quick Recall. Individual medal honors went to the following students: Math: Wesley Stratton, 2nd Place, Austin Coursey, 5th Place; Science: Phillip Wilkerson, 1st Place; Social Studies: Adam Williams, 3rd Place; Language Arts: Madison Rose, 1st Place, Kendra Farlee, 5th Place; Art and Humanities: Will Mullen, 3rd Place; Written Composition: Kendra Farlee, 1st Place, Ashlee Gilbert, 2nd Place, Danielle White, 3rd Place.

The History Bowl 1st Place JV Division students, Brennan Hughes, Will Mullen, Brandon Johns, Phillip Wilkerson, & Adam Williams are now qualified to travel to Washington, DC for the Nationals in April.

The entire Academic Team will attend Regionals in Muhlenberg County on Sat., 2/14/15. May they have a “sweet” victory on Valentine’s Day! Congratulations to all these students and their coaches on achieving this victory!
