Good Sunday morning Panther fans!! We have a jam-packed memo for this week, so I thought I would get an earlier start!! Hopefully, the “white stuff” won’t impact any of our numerous activities this week. However, in the event of cancellations, please know that the district uses WRUS, WBKO, the district website, Facebook and the One Call system for notifications.
Congratulations to our RHS Football team on their victory over Holy Cross Friday night in the 2nd round of the playoffs. The Panthers will travel to Mayfield on Friday night to take on the Cardinals in the 3rd round!! ONCE we beat the Cardinals, it is on to the state semi-finals!! I have a feeling that this is the year for our Panthers to keep this energy going and overcome Mayfield! Good luck to Coach Myers, the players, and his staff!
Parents, PROGRESS REPORTS for the 2nd nine week grading period were sent home Friday afternoon with students. Please be sure to review and discuss those with your children.
This past week, our district underwent an accreditation renewal process with Advanced-Ed. Through many months of collecting survey data, completing a self-assessment, gathering evidence and the actual site-visit that occurred this past week, the team has recommended that our district be accredited effective for the next 5 years. We have had many parents and community stakeholders participate in this process, either by completing surveys or conducing actual interviews. We would like to thank all of those who have been a part of the continuous improvement process for our district.
Just a reminder for seniors and senior parents—tomorrow is our College Fair Night at RHS from 5:00-7:00 in the high school lobby. We will have representatives from the following schools/organizations on hand to assist you and your student in planning for the future:

GOLDEN Panther Awards
In addition to the normal honor roll that is submitted for each nine week grading period, we are taking our student recognition program one step further and including other aspects of being a successful student at Russellville Jr/Sr High School. Besides academic fortitude and perseverance, we know that in order for students to be successful they must academically achieve but this can be greatly impact by other factors such as attendance and behavior. The Golden Panther award has been created to recognize and honor students in the three areas that contribute the most to their overall success—attainment of knowledge (grades), attendance and behavior. I am thrilled to announce that we have 23 students who will be receiving GOLDEN Panther Awards and recognition at this week’s board meeting on Tuesday at 6:00. The students are as follows:
6th | 7th | 8th | 9th | 10th | 11th | 12th |

Criteria for Golden Panther Awards are based on having a 4.0 GPA/All A’s, no absences/tardies and no behavior referrals for the nine week period. These students will also receive a Golden Panther card that will be good for various items and events during the next nine week period (admission to games/events, items from concession stand, etc.)
We are also designating students for the school’s Principal’s List. Students qualify for the classification by being named to the All A or A/B honor roll, no more than one excused absence for the nine weeks and no behavior referrals. These students are as follows:
