Panther College Academy begins, 8/15/16!

Sixteen seniors at Russellville Junior/Senior High School now have the opportunity to not only earn multiple college credits but to also attend those classes on a college campus. On Monday, 8/15/16, members of the RJSHS Class of 2016-17, who chose to enroll in the Panther College Academy and who qualified academically, began being transported to the Bowling Green and Franklin Center of Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College Mondays through Thursdays. PCA students are not required to attend RJSHS on Fridays unless there is some special circumstance. Based upon their individual needs, some students may also qualify to leave before the end of the day. The main purpose of Russellville Panther College Academy is to allow academically-minded seniors an opportunity to begin their college careers earlier than normal while also completing their high school course work. SKYCTC students work toward Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Junior College degrees that transfer to WKU or any other state university in Kentucky. Even if the student transfers before completing an Associate’s Degree, these General Education courses will transfer to state schools. This is a great opportunity for our students, and we are so very proud of their achievements!
