SES observes safe schools week, 10/17 - 21/16

The Kentucky Center for School Safety is proud to announce this year's KY Safe Schools Week is set for October 16-22, 2016. This year's theme is “Be the HERO; STOP the Bullying!” which focuses on everyday heroes, their roles in our lives, and how each one of us need to step up and "Be the HERO" when the opportunities arise both in school and in life. "Honor", "Encourage", "Respect", and "Opportunity" will be the powerful words emphasized in our campaign to empower students to choose to be a HERO either openly or silently using an online tip line. Being a HERO isn't just a label for a time, it's an attitude and a code to live by. Each day this week, SES will celebrate School Safety Week and encourage “dress-the-part” days: Monday – Honor - honorable mention day, dress to impress by wearing your best patriotic outfit! (red, white, & blue); Tuesday – Encourage – encourage decades of heroes with decade day! Dress like the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, or 80’s; Wednesday – Respect – show respect to our everyday heroes: dress in army camo, as police or firefighters; Thursday – Opportunity – we all have the opportunity to be whatever we want…be that! Dress up as whatever career you want to be; Friday – Be the Hero, Stop the Bullying – Dress up as a bullying-stopping Super Hero!  On Thursday, in the school library, Conservation Officer, Clay Brummal, spoke precisely to our students regarding safety precautions and measures.
