The 2016 RJSHS Marching Panther Show of Bands was a huge success Saturday, 09/17/16, at Rhea Stadium! We were certainly grateful the rain held off for this event! RJSHS was proud and honored to host the following schools this year: Dawson Springs, Warren Central, Warren East, Greenwood, Franklin-Simpson, Logan County, and McGavock High School from Tennessee. All the bands performed very well and provided an evening of great music. Congratulations to McGavock High School as they received the Grand Champion Award for the evening and to Logan County High School on receiving the Reserve Grand Champion Trophy for having the 2nd highest overall score. In addition to all the work invested in this event by our band members, there is a large amount of “behind the scenes” support from local businesses, staff members, parents, and members of the band booster program. They work diligently to ensure that this event represents our school in the highest way possible. Principal, Mrs. Kim McDaniel, stated, on behalf of Russellville Junior/Senior High School, I offer a huge, “Thanks!”, for your support, and we look forward to next year’s Show of Bands! The RJSHS Marching Panthers will also be in action Saturday, 9/24/16, at the Logan County High School Band Show! Good luck to Director Brian Brown, our band students, band parents, and staff!
