RHS Senior Night, Friday, 02/17/17

Senior Night

On Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, RJSHS hosted Senior Night for the basketball season, and also included several other recognitions. At 6pm the RHS Lady Panthers challenged Dawson Springs with a victory, and between games, Senior Night was observed recognizing RHS Cheerleaders, RHS Girls Basketball, and RHS Boys Basketball. Following these recognitions, the RHS Panthers challenged South Warren also for a victory. Loreal Cheaney and Kahlia Hampton were awarded their 1000-point basketballs, Coach Phil Todd was recognized and awarded his 300 win basketball, and Coach Roger Dale Daniel was presented a plaque by Mayor Mark Stratton declaring “Roger Dale Daniel” Day in appreciation for his years of coaching and influence on students in the community! Coach Roger has been a pillar for the Russellville Community and the RJ/SHS athletic department, and he just recently retired from Russellville Parks and Recreation after 20 plus years of service. He is a cancer survivor and has continued to coach girls’ basketball and middle school football. All former players, friends, and family members of Coach Roger Dale Daniel were invited to attend the game. We congratulate Coach Roger and family for all of his hard work and dedication to our school and community. Also, the 4th Region All-Region team ballots have been confirmed, and we have some of our RHS athletes represented on these teams as well as a coach! Girls: Loreal Cheaney- 3rd Team All Region; Boys: Pedro Bradshaw- 1st Team All Region; Jaylyn McMurry- 3rd Team All Region; and Coach of the Year- Phil Todd. Congratulations! Both of our teams will be in action during the 13th District Basketball Tournament at Franklin-Simpson High School. Both of our teams will play on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 6:30- RHS Girls vs. Logan Co Girls; 8:00-RHS Boys vs. Todd Co. Boys; Thursday, Feb. 23, - 7:00- GIRLS Championship; Friday, Feb. 24,- 7:00- BOYS Championship. Admission is $6.00. Good luck, we are Panther Proud!
