New SES Principal Named

RMS assistant principal to lead at SES

RMS Assistant Principal Lisa White, who taught at Stevenson from 2009-2012 and has been Logan County Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year, will soon be SES' new principal. She will replace Debbie Brown, who came from Todd County to take the position last year.
"I am pleased the Site Based Decision Making Council has selected Mrs. White," said Superintendent Leon Smith, who is shown congratulating Mrs. White in the above photo. "She is well prepared to serve in that capacity. I am convinced we will see great results from her leadership. I have heard many of our staff and community leaders comment how pleased they are to see Mrs. White in that leadership role."
Mrs. White is well known locally because she founded CharacterWorks, which promotes the importance of having good character county-wide.
She is now "very excited about renewing previous relationships at SES and creating new ones," she said.
"I can't wait for the students to share their work with me and celebrate their progress," she said.
She's also looking forward to meeting parents, who she says "are part of the SES family," and getting input from them regarding their children's academic experience. To that end, Mrs. White has organized a Parent Chat, which will be held the first month of June. Details about the chat will be sent to parents closer to the date.
Mrs. White has started many exciting initiatives for students during her more than 20 years as an educator and is looking forward to doing the same at SES.
At T.C. Cherry Elementary in Bowling Green she initiated a school-wide science lab that was used as a Super Saturday location by Western Kentucky University's gifted program. At Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary in Bowling Green, Mrs. White formed and sponsored the school's first color guard, which performed at sporting events and the Bowling Green Christmas Parade.
She is now excited about reviving the Panther Den incentive store she founded at SES.
"I think her desire to be in our district and her long-term plans will provide stability and hope for a great future" at SES, Mr. Smith said.
