RHS Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)

--Five RHS students traveled this week to the state FCCLA
conference with sponsor, Mrs. Ashley McGinnis.
The team of Addie Hendley, Jalonda Wells and Mateah Black placed second
overall in the state Illustrated Junior Talk division. As a result of this accomplishment, these
students have qualified to attend the national FCCLA conference which will be
held in San Antonio, Texas. Congratulations to these young ladies and Mrs. Mcginnis on this honor and for representing RHS at this level! We are very proud of the
hard work you put into your projects!

Operation Preparation
--Each year, schools are required to host OP events for high
school sophomores. During these events, students are exposed to different representatives from at least 15 different career clusters to ensure that students have information to begin making important career decisions. Our Operation Prep
event will be held on Wednesday at RHS from 8:00-11:30. During this time
period, students will have the opportunity to interact with our keynote
speaker, Marilyn de Oliveira, a renowned Brazilian musician who is the
principal cellist in the Oregon Symphony.
After her performance at RHS, she will travel back to Bowling Green for
an appearance on Mid-day Live on WBKO.
WBKO Meteorologist, Shane Hollindae, will also be at RHS to introduce
our guest from Oregon and will also be the closing speaker for our
program. Students will also be traveling
to three different career sessions hosted by a wide-variety of professionals
from throughout our community representing multiple career paths and
options.
We are extremely thankful for the number of volunteers willing to come into our school to help promote this important program. There will be more follow-up information in
next week’s newsletter.
