Logan County Health Department visits SES

Living a long and healthy life is nothing to take for granted. National research indicates many Americans do not know their true health status. When people reported their level of risk for certain types of disease, like high blood pressure and diabetes, only eleven percent believed they were at risk. However, after a biometrics screening, nearly 45 percent of those polled learned they were at risk.

The Logan County Health Department continues to support our school by providing Vitality Checks, free of charge, for any employee participating in the district's health insurance plan. Vitality Checks provide teachers and staff a blood screening and biometric assessment that measures body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, blood pressure, blood glucose, and total cholesterol. While simple to measure, these risk factors have great importance for long-term health.
