Weekly Update, March 14th, 2016

Good Sunday afternoon to all!  I hope everyone remembers that we are springing forward today!!

 

Russellville Archery

The archery team was in action again this week at a tournament in Adairville.  Congratulations to individual archers, Kaleb Coursey—3rd place overall for his division and to Colin Siletchnik—5th place overall for his division.  The team came in 3rd place overall for another success Russellville Archery weekend!! Congratulations to all team members and Coach Rust!! The team will be in action again this coming weekend at Todd County!

 

4th Region Tournament

The 4th region tournament concluded Tuesday evening with some our Panthers receiving individual recognition.  First of all, Senior Trey Matthews was presented with the 4th Region AD Policy Board Scholarship Recipient Award!! Senior Jason Mitchell and Junior Pedro Bradshaw were also selected as All 4th Region Tournament Team members!  Congratulations to all three of these young men!

 

RMS Cheerleading

The RMS Cheer team recently wrapped up their year with their annual banquet. During this event, several students were presented with individual awards and acknowledgement:

Captain's Award:  Halle York

Co Captain:           Cassidy Farwick

Coach's Award:     Addie Mosier  and   Caylee Wright

110% Award:         Lily Buffa

Most Improved:     Addie Cundiff

The team members also voted on the cheerleader who they felt exhibited the most respect, responsibility, school spirit and leadership during the season.  This special recognition was presented to 6th grader, Addie Mosier.  A special thanks to this team and their coaches, Leslie Coffman and Beverly York, on a well-led cheer season for our middle school students.

 

RMS/RHS Band

Several of our middle school and high school band members traveled last weekend to Bowling Green to perform in Solo and Ensembles events demonstrating their many talents and gifts in the musical arts.  Overall, 62 medals were awarded to our students with 15 for Proficient Ensemble performances, 6 for Proficient Solo performances, 32 for Distinguished Ensemble performances and 9 for Distinguished Solo performances.
