Logan County Health Department shares "GloGerms" presentation, 10/19/17

Mrs. Amos' hands

The Logan County Health Department continues to serve the students and staff at Stevenson Elementary School, as they have for many years.  Their Health Educators are always willing to come share good information with our students and staff such as teaching classes on exercise and nutrition; hygiene; cough/sneeze covering; hand washing to reduce the spread of illness; and other similar topics.  On Thursday, Oct. 19, the Early Childhood students enjoyed the “GloGerms” presentations as Mrs. Kathy Thweatt shared a video with them, reviewed and practiced with them on how to properly wash their hands, applied the magic GloGerms Lotion, and had them wash their hands.  She then had each student hold their hands under her black light to show any places they may have missed by the GloGerms lotion left behind.  Pictured you will see Primary teacher Mrs. Lindsey Amos's hands.  She purposely didn't wash her GloGerms Lotion off properly to show the students what happens when they forget to wash or don't wash properly.  SES students always look forward to these visits and want to say, “Thank you!”, to our friends from the Logan County Health Department for helping our students and staff remember to stay healthy.
