2nd graders participate in Great Shakeout

On Oct. 19, at 10:19am millions of people worldwide practiced how to Drop, Cover, and Hold On* during Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills!  Among those millions was Mr. Cameron Kisselbaugh’s 2nd grade class students at Stevenson Elementary School as they participated in the Great Central US Shakeout.  The Shake Out is an earthquake awareness event in which over 296,000 others across the state of Kentucky were also participating.  The Central U.S. reports 2.7 million participants this year, with over 55.8 million participants worldwide.  The Drop, Cover, and Hold On* technique is standard for earthquake drills.  Stevenson has participated in this event for several years and uses this opportunity to incorporate mandated drills with the awareness event.  The website available for further information is https://www.shakeout.org/centralus/index.html. Participating is a great way for your family or organization to be prepared to survive and recover quickly from big earthquakes.  Great job, students!  We R Panthers!
