Lights of Hope event held at Square, 4/20/17

Crowd gathers at the Square

The Lights of Hope event sponsored by: the Youth Action Team of Logan County and Logan County Faith and Family was held Thursday, 4/20/17, at the Carrico Park Square.  It was an evening to honor the lives of victims and survivors of substance abuse.  Many of our families have been affected in some way by substance abuse.  With a crowd of approximately 78, the ceremony began at 7pm with an opening prayer by Bro. Jered Patrick, Pastor of Southern Heights Baptist Church.  The Keynote Speaker was State Representative, Jason Petrie.  Music was provided by Brooke Bibb, as she shared a song titled, “Clean”.  Bro. Todd Latham of Grace Recovery Home was there and shared his church is an available resource.  This event was held with the hope to raise awareness and remove prejudice against individuals suffering from substance abuse from all walks of life.  “With the removal of shame comes the hope for survival”.
