Christmas Band Concert, 12/12/17

 Once again, the RISD did not disappoint as they held their annual Christmas Band Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the deGraffenried Auditorium. The holiday celebration began this year with music from the Beginning Band students from Stevenson Elementary under the direction of Assistant Director, Mr. Trevor Cardwell. Next to perform were the 6th Grade Band and the 7th/8th Grade Band.  The RHS Percussion Ensemble entertained with a rendition of Feliz Navidad. Lastly, we heard lovely selections from our RHS Concert Band members under the direction of Band Director, Brian Brown. They concluded the evening with several holiday favorites, including "White Christmas”, “O Holy Night”, and “Sleigh ride”. The following RJSHS students were recognized as having been named to the WKU All-District Band: Candace Baker, Zach Baker, Noah Brown, Ashlee Gilbert, Madison Hyams, Brandon Johns, Anna Ragland, MyDuyen Tran, Brandy West, Jennifer Wilkerson, Adam Williams, and Kyran Williams. The WKU Honors Band Students are Zach Baker, Noah Brown, Ashlee Gilbert, Brandon Johns, Lauren Mullen, Brandy West, and Adam Williams.  The Murray Quad State students are Candace Baker, Deja Davis, Taylor Gwynette, Kryslyn Underwood, and Jennifer Wilkerson. Senior band students are Cole Celsor, Austin Coursey, Ashlee Gilbert, Brandon Johns, Will Landaverde, Logan Long, Emma McReynolds, Will Mullen, Katie Paul, Dillon Porter, July Ramirez, Lucy Wilkinson, and Adam Williams. Parents, students, staff, and community members seemed to truly enjoy the evening.
